ICELAND

We are back! Since we have so many pictures from the trip I'll do it city by city.

First:
ICELAND! What a wonderful country! We got in mega early and started out our trip at the Blue Lagoon. I'm sure you have seen lots of amazing photos of this place. It is unreal. We got into our bathing suits and waded into the milky blue hot spring surrounded by lava rocks and pluming steam columns. The water was warm and calm. We loved every minute of our time there soaking it all in. Next we jumped into our VW golf rental car and started our drive around the Golden Circle. We saw waterfalls, rift valleys, geysers, hot springs, craters and lots of cute horseys! It was such a fun time listening to Sigur Ros on public radio and taking in the pristine scenery. The next day we got to see the capital city, Reykjavik. There we had a chance to see what Iceland city life looked like. Before we knew it we were looking through the plane window watching Iceland disappear beneath the fog and clouds. From the sky you would never know the country existed. We felt so fortunate to experience this mysterious hidden world. A land where the air is cold and the ground is hot waiting for adventurers to come and enjoy the beauty of it all. Don't worry Iceland, we will be back. We miss you already.
